Cookies Policy

This page explains the cookies used on emphasizelabs.com — what they do, why they’re there, and how to turn them off.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device when you visit them. They let the site remember things between page loads or between visits — like whether you’ve accepted the cookie banner, which preferences you’ve set, or how you landed on the site.
Most websites use cookies. Ours uses a small number, all explained below.
What we use cookies for
We group our cookies into three categories.
1. Strictly necessary cookies
These keep the site working. They handle basic things like remembering whether you’ve accepted the cookie banner, keeping form sessions active, and helping pages load correctly.
You can’t switch these off, because the site would stop functioning properly without them. They don’t track you for marketing purposes.
2. Analytics cookies
These collect anonymised data about how visitors use the site — which pages get viewed, how long people spend reading, where traffic comes from. We use Google Analytics for this.
The data is aggregated. We don’t see individual browsing histories. We use it to understand which pages are useful and which need improvement.
You can opt out of these. Most browsers also offer a “Do Not Track” setting that we honour.
3. Functional cookies
If we add features in the future that remember your preferences (for example, a saved consultation slot or a language preference), they may set functional cookies. None are currently active beyond what’s listed above.
Cookies we may add in the future
As the business grows, we may add advertising cookies (for example, the Meta Pixel or Google Ads conversion tracking) to measure how effectively our own marketing is reaching the right audience. These cookies are not currently active on the site.
If we add them, we’ll update this policy first, and the cookie banner will explicitly ask for your consent before any advertising cookies are loaded. You’ll always have the option to decline them and continue using the site normally.
Cookies we don’t use
To be clear about what we don’t do:
- We don’t currently run advertising cookies on the site
- We don’t use third-party trackers for retargeting
- We don’t sell or share cookie data with advertising networks
- We don’t use cookies to build behavioural profiles of individual visitors
If any of these changes, we’ll update the policy and request fresh consent through the cookie banner.
Third-party cookies
When you visit the site, some cookies are set by services we rely on rather than by us directly:
Google Analytics. Sets cookies to measure aggregate site usage. Read their privacy details at policies.google.com/privacy.
WhatsApp click-throughs. When you click a WhatsApp button, you’re handed off to WhatsApp, which has its own cookie behaviour outside our control.
Embedded media. If we embed a YouTube video or similar content, that platform may set its own cookies once you interact with the embed.
How to control cookies
You have a few options.
Browser settings. Every modern browser lets you block, delete, or restrict cookies. The exact steps differ by browser — search for “manage cookies in [your browser name]” and you’ll find current instructions.
Cookie banner. When you first visit the site, you’ll see a banner letting you accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your choice anytime by clearing the cookie banner and reloading the page.
Opt-out tools. For Google Analytics specifically, you can install Google’s official opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Be aware: blocking all cookies may break parts of the site, including forms and basic navigation.
How long do cookies last
Cookies fall into two types based on lifespan:
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. We use these for things like keeping forms working during a single visit.
Persistent cookies stick around for a defined period — typically 30 days to 24 months depending on the cookie. The cookie banner, for example, remembers your preference for 12 months so you don’t have to re-accept on every visit.
Updates to this policy
If we add, remove, or change how cookies work on the site, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will trigger a renewed cookie banner asking for your consent again.
